Join us for an introduction and overview of the NSF SBIR program with Program Director Steve Konsek

SBIR/STTR’s are a great opportunity to obtain funding to kickstart your business! The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are federally funded, award based grant programs to encourage, enable and fund small business to perform high risk or novel R&D.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) helps startups and small businesses transform their ideas into marketable products and services through their SBIR/STTR program – awarding $200 million in funding to entrepreneurs across the country each year.

Join us and our guest speaker, Steve Konsek to learn about NSF’s SBIR/STTR Program.

Speaker Information:

Steve Konsek joined the National Science Foundation’s SBIR/STTR program in 2012 and has served as both a Program Director for the SBIR/STTR and the Innovation Corps (I-Corps™) program. Prior to joining NSF, Steve was the Chief Technology Officer at Illumitex, a venture-backed company developing light emitting diode chips, packages and fixtures for general illumination. Throughout his career, Steven has developed innovative, game-changing technologies across a range of semiconductor applications. He holds numerous patents and publications in LEDs, memory, process integration and nanoscale devices. Steve has a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Mathematics from Purdue University.
